My name is Seth Irby

I studied music and religion at Oxford of Emory and Emory University, honestly exploring my Christian faith in a setting that, at times, seemed to actively try to deconstruct it. It was soul wrenching but also really clarifying and rewarding. That internal conflict, along with learning more about music theory, processing life through deep conversations with friends, and sharing my music in dorm rooms and open mics was the potent cocktail that changed me from a songwriting hobbyist into someone who wanted to share my faith through music as a career. 

After​ graduation, I worked with the music ministry of Cru for the next 21 years, traveling around the world in cover bands, sharing the gospel from stage through personal stories and songs, and leading worship at conferences and retreats. I continued to write songs but expanded into being a studio vocalist for various projects. I met and married my wife Laura through that ministry and we released an EP and briefly toured together.

In my time with Cru's music ministry I expanded an effort to equip and encourage college worship bands through weekend trainings and really loved the chance to collaborate with young song writers and musicians and to platform them to share their gifts. I also served as a worship leader and elected Elder at Christ Community, our local church in Carmel, Indiana.

Laura and I remain on staff with Cru and now live in Orlando, Florida, where I serve as a project manager specializing in media for the Jesus Film Project. I love that Jesus Film has made it part of my role to continue to use my musical gifts to lead worship or do concerts at home or abroad.
